Business Development Manager — APAC — Hong Kong

At Ouster, we're developing advanced sensor hardware and vision algorithms for autonomous cars and drones. We’ve developed the most powerful and capable LIDAR sensor in the world, and we’re excited to get it in the hands of roboticists around the world. We are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to sell our sensors and gain adoption in a variety of sectors - automotive/AV, industrial automation, surveying/mapping, drones, universities and more. Technical skills are important as you will need to be a highly entrepreneurial and creative business development thinker but even more important will be your insatiable curiosity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in the entire consultative sales & business development process: identify and qualify leads, respond to inbound leads, find introductions and/or cold email/call potential customers, send quotes, convert them to customers, and expand relationships with existing customers
  • Help get reference design wins that create a deep future pipeline of sales
  • Nurture existing customers and increase their sensor purchases quarter over quarter
  • Pass out of scope leads to our global channel partners
  • Keep our CRM updated and report as needed to the rest of the team
  • Attend trade shows to engage with potential and existing customers

Customer Success Engineer — APAC — Hong Kong

Ouster is hiring a Customer Success Engineer to help our robotics customers be as successful and efficient with our lidar sensors as possible! This position will serve primarily to help our customers get up and running quickly, troubleshoot and fix any problems, track trending issues, and process all returns. These duties will be performed in compliance with policy guidelines and within timeframes as defined in the team’s SLAs and/or project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboard customers after they have received their sensor, making sure they have all the tools and information to complete their projects.
  • Quickly investigate, evaluate and successfully resolve customer issues with Lidar Sensors.
  • Efficiently diagnose hardware, software and network related problems on a variety of platforms.
  • Carry out independent research to find technical solutions where necessary. Where a solution cannot be identified, the candidate will work closely with our engineering teams, to escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide advice on configuring and optimizing environments, to ensure that services are running effectively.
  • Given the critical nature of the customer projects and product issues supported, after-hours and some weekend work will be required.
  • Create and maintain knowledge and support articles.

DESIREED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong experience supporting Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred)
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VLAN, HTTP, SSL, UDP, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Resourcefulness to find solutions to technical challenges with minimal input
  • Have a proven aptitude to successfully work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills - able to effectively communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Patience - sometimes solving these issues requires multiple iterations and many hours
  • Positivity & Resilience - affinity for defusing stressful situations, including ones where customers may be frustrated

Sales Operations Manager — San Francisco

The business team is at the center of Ouster’s growth and expansion. We are growing quickly but through careful decision making and strategic resource allocation.

Ouster is seeking a driven, analytical, and process-oriented Sales Operations Manager to optimize day-to-day success of the business organization. This is a dynamic role requiring both internal and external facing responsibilities on everything downstream from the customer purchase order. You will partner closely with Business Development and Operations teams to ensure accurate information is reflected in our CRM systems and derive operational insights from our raw data. You will leverage your command of the data for reporting weekly and monthly updates to operators, managers and executives.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer facing

  • All tasks related to sales operations in the Americas region (quotes, sales orders, shipping logistics, accounts receivable issues, etc)

Systems

  • Monitor data quality and validate reporting across our systems
  • Investigate issues by digging into raw data and partnering with operators to gather insights

Reporting + Strategy

  • Coordinate quarterly reporting of KPIs on key metrics to business stakeholders, including marketing and finance
  • Work with BD and customers to maintain accurate forecasts, report on trends, and communicate critical updates to the operations and supply chain teams
  • Measure and analyze business performance across functional areas (sales funnel metrics, lead generation, support, customer satisfaction)

Process improvement

  • Identify and correct inefficient workflows through process improvement techniques, working closely with operations, business development, finance, marketing, and others.
  • Design and implement business processes that increase sales productivity and remove bottlenecks -Ensure orders and processes are in compliance

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-3 years professional experience, including sales operations, administration, project management or similar - Previous experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Netsuite, Hubspot, etc.)
  • Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Technical Sales Manager — San Francisco

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help the Ouster automate and scale it’s software operations.
  • Work with HW/SW teams to solve automation and infrastructure problems
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure
  • Help establish deployment best practices
  • Cultivate best practices and mentor team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in computer science or related field
  • Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong foundations in Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform
  • Experience bringing up and maintaining CI systems like Jenkins
  • Experience deploying / maintaining Kubernetes clusters
  • Security mindset
  • Strong Python coding skills
  • Experience managing Linux deployments
  • Interest in hardware products

Sr. Frontend Engineer — San Francisco

  • Develop UX models for customer-facing applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in computer science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience delivering browser based applications.
  • Fluency in one or more frontend frameworks like React, Angular or Vue
  • Strong coding skills (JS and Typescript)
  • Good understanding of the frontend toolchain like webpack
  • This role is frontend centric but some understanding of the rest of the stack (flask, DB, deployment, cloud) is beneficial

  • Exposure/Understanding C/Python interoperation and toolchains
