(Part-time) Stock Plan Administrator Consultant — San Francisco

Reporting to Corporate Controller will play a critical role in the completion of daily stock administration duties, running Equity Edge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and upload monthly new hire grant upload and demographic information upload templates.
  • Prepare and upload termination upload template files as needed.
  • Review and approve RSU releases within the Equity Edge.
  • Send option exercise and RSU vesting information for Section 16 Officers to our external counsel for Form 4 preparation and filing.
  • Main point of contact for equity compensation related issues/questions from participants, Equity Edge (equity administration software provider), and E-Trade (broker)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 5 years of stock plan administration experience for a public company (required)
  • Equity Edge experience (strongly preferred)
  • CEP (strongly preferred, but must at least have passed the Level 1 CEP exam)
  • Sarbanes-Oxley 404 public accounting or industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to implement changes in a rapidly scaling/growing environment.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment.

Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting — San Francisco

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to report directly to the Corporate Controller and be responsible for our external reporting, assist with our other statutory and regulatory filings, consolidations and provide support during our earnings cycle.

This candidate would ideally have a strong financial, SEC reporting and technical accounting background, be comfortable and confident navigating through innovative and complex matters to support transactions and products to help scale our product ecosystems, have outstanding communication and writing skills, be attentive to details, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working with multiple cross functional teams. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of senior leadership.

This individual will primarily be responsible for:

  • The Company’s SEC filings including Forms 10K and 10Q;
  • Monthly and quarterly consolidations of the Company’s financial statements and equity accounting;
  • Assisting the Company’s international accounting team with all aspects of international financial reporting;
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory financial reporting for the parent and various subsidiaries;
  • Assisting with certain technical accounting matters, including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of complex and non-standard transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, new product initiatives etc., adoption of new standards, as well as general corporate accounting matters.

Other duties needed to be successful in this role:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the various SEC filings including the 10K and 10Q, working cross functionally with different teams including corporate counsel, finance and strategy and various product teams in the process;
  • Be a key part of the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors, the corporate accounting team, finance and strategy and executive management;
  • Assist the Investor Relations team with various investor deliverables such as earnings releases, investor Q&A and other presentations;
  • Coordinate and manage the monthly and quarterly consolidation and financial reporting process;
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of financial statements for international subsidiary entities and other regulated entities and support the audit of such entities;
  • Research, evaluate and document to a high standard technical accounting conclusions and reporting implications of complex and non-standard transactions, as well as general corporate accounting matters to help drive accounting policies;
  • Be flexible and a team player that is trusted;
  • Provide team mentorship and coaching as necessary;
  • Exhibit the highest ethical standards while demonstrating accountability and ownership, and
  • Lead or participate in special projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Success Engineer — APAC — Hong Kong

Ouster is hiring a Customer Success Engineer to help our robotics customers be as successful and efficient with our lidar sensors as possible! This position will serve primarily to help our customers get up and running quickly, troubleshoot and fix any problems, track trending issues, and process all returns. These duties will be performed in compliance with policy guidelines and within timeframes as defined in the team’s SLAs and/or project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboard customers after they have received their sensor, making sure they have all the tools and information to complete their projects.
  • Quickly investigate, evaluate and successfully resolve customer issues with Lidar Sensors.
  • Efficiently diagnose hardware, software and network related problems on a variety of platforms.
  • Carry out independent research to find technical solutions where necessary. Where a solution cannot be identified, the candidate will work closely with our engineering teams, to escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide advice on configuring and optimizing environments, to ensure that services are running effectively.
  • Given the critical nature of the customer projects and product issues supported, after-hours and some weekend work will be required.
  • Create and maintain knowledge and support articles.

  • Strong experience supporting Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred)
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VLAN, HTTP, SSL, UDP, and TCP/IP protocols and applications

  • Resourcefulness to find solutions to technical challenges with minimal input
  • Have a proven aptitude to successfully work as part of a team.

Director of BDRs — San Francisco

Ouster is looking for a passionate leader to develop and manage our global BDR team. Your main focus will be ensuring your team is delivering repeatable & profitable pipeline and developing the future AEs of Ouster. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sets short- and long-term channel sales strategies
  • Develops relationships and structures partnerships with channel partners
  • Proactively leads a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship
  • Coordinates development of sales and marketing materials required for channel partners to be successful

Customer Success Engineer — San Francisco

Ouster is hiring a Customer Success Engineer to help our robotics customers be as successful and efficient with our lidar sensors as possible! This position will serve primarily to help our customers get up and running quickly, troubleshoot and fix any problems, track trending issues, and process all returns. These duties will be performed in compliance with policy guidelines and within timeframes as defined in the team’s SLAs and/or project requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboard customers after they have received their sensor, making sure they have all the tools and information to complete their projects.
  • Quickly investigate, evaluate and successfully resolve customer issues with Lidar Sensors.
  • Efficiently diagnose hardware, software and network related problems on a variety of platforms.
  • Carry out independent research to find technical solutions where necessary. Where a solution cannot be identified, the candidate will work closely with our engineering teams, to escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide advice on configuring and optimizing environments, to ensure that services are running effectively.
  • Given the critical nature of the customer projects and product issues supported, after-hours and some weekend work will be required.
  • Create and maintain knowledge and support articles.

  • Strong experience supporting Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred)

Sr. Embedded Linux Engineer — San Francisco

You will be working in a team with electrical engineers and FPGA-firmware engineers, so you need to have an interest in touching hardware and having fun in the lab.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience shipping embedded Linux based products.
  • General knowledge of embedded Linux (e.g. boot loader, kernel, boot flow, filesystems, networking, etc)
  • Strong C and/or C++ programming skills in user space

FPGA Hardware Engineer — San Francisco

Supplier Quality responsibilities would include the following:

  • Working with the Asia based Supplier Quality team and applicable Engineering members, drive continual improvement in quality to ensure that Ouster meets and exceeds Automotive Quality Requirements.
  • Drive rapid response to any Supplier quality excursions through Quality Alert Notices, Failure Analyses, though the cross functional 8D process to containment, corrective actions and long-term remedies.
  • Develop and deploy the IATF APQP Supplier Management processes to suppliers, beginning with the PPAP process, including standardized IATF compliant workbook.
  • In cases where suppliers are not yet IATF-16949 certified, adopt a development model with ultimate goal to achieve certification by a defined date, but in the interim, deploy the PPAP process to drive a deterministic component release process with defined and sustainable quality.
  • Work with a cross functional Engineering/Quality team drive continual improvement in Control plans, gages and measurement techniques that result in improved measurement correlation between different sites.

Working with QMS manager you will help to develop and deploy Supplier Quality management processes based upon APQP and play a significant role as part of a cross functional team to achieve ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 certification. Assist QMS manager to deploy applicable APQP Business Tools to support Supplier Management systems to maintain efficient traceability

NPI Technical Program Manager — San Francisco

The NPI Technical Program Manager, as a member of the Operations team, is responsible for managing the transition of complex development programs from the Engineering team to prototypes and production ramp-up. Senior/Principal LIDAR Performance Validation Engineer — San Francisco

You will grow with us as Ouster grows, be tasked with leading the development and execution of complex Performance Validation test strategies of Ouster LIDAR sensors, and analyzing the results using sophisticated analytical tools.   • Design Validation of the quoted optical, ranging performance etc. of the LIDAR in the presence of real-world impediments such as Thermal, rain, fog, crosstalk etc. over the full environmental operating envelop.

  • Understanding the pitfalls of JS modules and be able to lead our way towards esm modules while being able to support several build targets (browser, node, electron)

  • This role is frontend centric but some understanding of the rest of the stack (flask, DB, deployment, cloud) is beneficial

Associate Buyer — San Francisco

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for purchasing services, materials, equipment and supplies from vendors
  • Initiates purchase orders and amendments and maintains close coordination with manufacturing and engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities
  • Assure delivery of purchases in a timely manner through follow-up on all purchase orders, expediting delivery when necessary, and investigating any delays or problems related to a purchase order

Commodity Manager - Electronics — San Francisco

Ouster is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Commodity Manager - Electronics to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain electronic component parts and PCBAs. These could include specific parts related to our sensor and/or any other components intrinsic to the successful running of the organization.

She/he will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Ouster with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.

The Commodity Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

In this role, you will own and manage the Electronics and PCBA commodity strategy including leading supplier selection decisions, managing and developing key supplier relationships, driving commercial cost reductions and supporting new product introductions from a supply chain perspective. As a Commodity Manager, you will build and leverage strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in engineering and work together with our suppliers and contract manufacturing partners to assure cost, quality and delivery targets are met to achieve maximum advantages for Ouster.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Owner of RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented.

  • Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that Ouster’s commodity pricing are best in class.

  • Lead the vendor selection process with engineering teams.
  • Work collaboratively with other cross functional teams as well as contract manufacturing partners.
  • Evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance or containment.
  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Create competitive environments with suppliers to support a negotiation strategy.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers; Perform value analysis for final selection of suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.

Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager — San Francisco

Ouster is seeking a highly motivated and highly process oriented Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager to join our growing Supply Chain team. In this role, you will manage critical domestic and international shipments to support production, customer fulfillment, and RMA service, and everything in between. You will gain invaluable experience about Ouster’s supply chain and understand our processes from the ground up.

The candidate will primarily serve as a resident expert responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining import/export compliance policies, procedures, and related systems with the objective to improve Ouster’s import / export operations efficiency and compliance. The Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager will play a critical role in mitigating risks and costs associated with Ouster's global import/export operations. The candidate will work with related Ouster business functions and stakeholders, across multiple jurisdictions, to drive and deliver exceptional service and compliance, ensuring uninterrupted Customs and Supply Chain operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain team members to troubleshoot, unblock, and improve logistics operations.
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams in supply chain, finance, and operations to explain and enhance logistics operations, systems, and data.
  • Manage effectively and independently day-to-day Ouster’s Import / Export Compliance Operations.
  • Evaluate import/export compliance requirements such as HTS, PGAs, and ADD/CVDs on products and components. Such products primarily include automotive components, electronics, machinery, finished goods, and various materials.
  • Maintain Ouster’s Customs recordkeeping program as required by CBP.
  • Manage Ouster’s Customs Broker as needed.
  • Administer Import Licenses, Article 23 for Netherlands and others as needed and defined.
  • Provide Customs valuation expertise and support for other related programs such as Customs Reconciliation.
  • Where necessary, work with internal Ouster stakeholders, including engineering, etc. to obtain the information required to ensure accurate classifications are assigned to Ouster's products, while maintaining organized records of such supporting information.
  • Develop classification decision rationale for various product types to improve efficiency in classification while maintaining accuracy.
  • Assess the consistency of existing classifications across the different Ouster commodities.
  • Identify and record applicable PGA requirements based upon product classifications.
  • Train other team members and new hires on import compliance matters.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate policies and procedures, including Ouster's Customs Compliance Manual.
  • Audit and review Customs duty payments and manage customs drawback/reclamation process.
  • Oversee Global Logistics Operations; directly managing the 3PL that services North American, EMEA and APAC markets.
  • Source, negotiate, and engage with Domestic and International shipping carriers, both prospective and existing.
  • Design, implement, manage detailed onboarding plans for new and existing fulfillment partners / 3PL.
  • Develop and implement new processes for transportation efficiencies.
  • Educate and train others to ensure an operational understanding of the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern their area of responsibility relative to domestic and international logistics.
  • Works with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain when developing the global distribution roadmap and planning transition of freight opportunities for current and new business.
  • Help build metrics and KPI’s to drive carrier cost savings and service improvements.
  • Develop, write, and publish processes and procedures in the logistics and freight management area to ensure consistent practices relevant to today’s business and industry throughout the supply chain and organization; ensure materials and documents are up-to-date and easy to access.
  • Ensure supply chain and logistics teams are equipped with the tools and information to perform their jobs consistent with departmental standards of operation.

DESIRED QUALITIES AND SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of Import Compliance experience, preferably in the automotive and/or electronics space.
  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience and/or evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Strong experience in import classification, in depth understanding and command of U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, GRIs, Explanatory Notes, CROSS, and preferred experience classifying products across multiple jurisdictions.

NPI Materials Program Manager — San Francisco

Ouster is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable NPI Materials Program Manager to support the planning, warehousing and delivering of materials for the launch of new programs. This person will be responsible to support the prototype, pre-production builds and SOP phase of a program until the successful transition to sustainment planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, schedule and manage various purchased materials for new programs.
  • Support program/s from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team. Own the transition plan for the program / parts to be handed over to on-going production
  • Effectively communicate material requirements and program timelines/milestones to external suppliers
  • Work with external suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting on-time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain team and Logistics as needed.
  • Identify supply chain risks and mitigation steps to ensure material readiness
  • Communicate status and risks regularly. Escalate in a timely manner
  • Own the leadership communication on the program to all key stakeholders: Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commodity Management.
  • Ensure BOM accuracy by working with engineering, and document control team
  • Maintain accurate MRP data to reflect confirmed delivery quantities and due dates from suppliers, validate, troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to support material changes resulting from Change action (ECOs, PCOs, etc), plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old material
  • Provide ongoing transparency of inventory levels and ensure continuous inventory accuracy
  • Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, program management, product development teams, design engineers, supply chain, production control and logistics teams
  • Look for opportunities to identify and drive improvement projects/ processes
  • Generate and publish performance metrics on the program

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or other related field. MS/MA strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reports, is required
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels, are desired
