Business Development Associate — EMEA — Paris

At Ouster, we're building the next generation of high-resolution lidar sensors for autonomous vehicles, drones or factory automation.

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Associate to expand our European team in Paris.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creatively generate & qualify leads from a variety of sources and tee up conversations for the rest of the business development
  • Research and build profiles on qualified leads - organizations and applicable projects across a variety of sectors - from robotics, to mapping, autonomous vehicles, entertainment, VR/VR, heavy industries, and many other sectors.
  • Contribute to mapping the market with the sales operations and marketing team
  • Process inbound sales requests accurately and efficiently - while making it fun for everyone involved
  • Document successes and failures and develop a world-class BDR process for the organization
  • You are the tip of the spear for new business for the company. Success will be measured on qualified leads introduced to the team and pipeline generated, in addition to other metrics on supporting the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0-2 years experience as a business development representative or inside sales associate.

C++/FPGA Developer — San Francisco

We've transformed LIDAR from an analog device with thousands of components to an elegant digital device powered by one chip-scale laser array and one CMOS sensor. The result is a full range of high-resolution LIDAR sensors that deliver superior imaging at a dramatically lower price. Our advanced sensor hardware and vision algorithms are used in autonomous cars, drones and many other applications. If you’re motivated by solving big problems, we’re hiring key roles across the company and need your help!

We are looking for experienced digital hardware engineers with cross-functional experience in FPGAs/ASICs and software to join our growing hardware engineering team. The ideal candidate has previously architected and designed robust data receivers, and has direct experience with ASIC bring-up. Algorithm and DSP experience would be a plus. In addition to FPGA design, the candidate will be expected to work in the hardware lab and write C++ code.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and integrate features across our hardware stack, including high speed data transfer, DSP, and image processing
  • Develop new hardware platforms
  • Work cross-functionally with embedded software engineers, other ASIC/FPGA designers, and business leaders
  • Collaborate with vendors to deliver products effectively
  • Bring up new hardware and develop solutions to complex algorithmic problems to improve sensor performance and capabilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert in ASIC or FPGA design in Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Strong C and/or C++ programming skills
  • Hardware/software co-design and verification experience
  • Experience with embedded Linux (e.g. hardware APIs, high speed DMA, interrupt handling)
  • Experience with processor architecture and various communications protocols such as AXI, I2C, UART, SPI, ethernet, etc.
  • Experience driving relationships and working with vendors for product development
  • Experience with hands-on debugging in the lab with power supplies, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes for digital signals up to 1GHz
  • Familiarity with DSP and algorithms development
  • Bonus: Experience with Xilinx FPGAs (Zynq, Artix, etc.) and Vivado toolchain
  • Bonus: Experience with functional safety and embedded systems security

We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager to expand our team and drive our go-to-market efforts including: pricing & packaging, content creation & lead generation, sales strategy & enablement, and competitive intelligence & product roadmapping. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, influencing strategy, crafting messaging, creating content, and enabling sales. You will serve as a thought-leader both internally and externally to help guide our teams and our partners across the world to grow our presence in your industries. Our industry verticals include: Autonomous vehicles, Industrial automation, Mapping and surveying, Robotics, and Smart Infrastructure (Smart Cities and Security). This is a role for a self-starter, a strong communicator, someone who is comfortable getting technical with our products, and most importantly someone who wants to have a huge impact in building 3D cameras to power the future of automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deeply understand how our technology works and all our specs, with hands on learning and collaboration with our technical team
  • Be an expert on the market. Understand the goals of our customers and prospects and how we can help them get there, as well as keeping close watch on competitors and their value propositions
  • Serve as the voice of our customers and help surface new products or features that will help us grow in your verticals
  • Apply your expertise and product knowledge to inform our sales strategy and tactics
  • Define our industry messaging and our content strategies. Be the expert in how to sell our products
  • Write compelling content — from blogs, webpages, webinars and case studies to getting your hands dirty recording lidar data, and editing video content that will speak to our target audience
  • Collaborate and work closely with our sales, field applications engineering, product, and business operations teams, and our distributor partners, to help close more deals and grow our business

  • 2-5+ years experience in product marketing
  • Comfort with highly technical details and strong curiosity to learn more
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills. Ability to tell a compelling story of how our products solve problems for our customers
  • Comfort with making polished presentations in Powerpoint
  • Experience with the product marketing role - product launches, messaging, content creation, and sales enablementGreat teamwork and team building skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across all functions in the company
  • Bias towards action -- takes an ownership mindset towards everything and willing to jump in to help other teams when needed

Sr. Embedded Linux Engineer — San Francisco

We are looking for an Embedded Linux guru who will be working with the hardware team to design, build and implement firmware and software for a pseudo real-time embedded linux system. Special focus on developing a highly robust, fault tolerant system architecture. You will be working in a team with electrical engineers and FPGA-firmware engineers, so you need to have an interest in touching hardware and having fun in the lab.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience shipping embedded Linux based products.
  • General knowledge of embedded Linux (e.g. boot loader, kernel, boot flow, filesystems, networking, etc)
  • Strong C and/or C++ programming skills in user space
  • Intimately familiar with system architecture from BSP development to product lifecycle planning (i.e OS updates)
  • Developed software for Hardware products
  • Experience with a cross-compilation SDK for Hardware

  • Experience working with the Linux kernel (e.g. writing a driver, customizing the kernel and the boot process, high speed DMA, interrupt handling)
