Celebrating Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day

Since its inception, Ouster has been building a safer and more sustainable future through the development and commercialization of breakthrough digital lidar technology that has the potential to become a truly ubiquitous sensing modality. To do so, Ouster brings together a group of incredibly talented hardware, software, manufacturing, and business experts with a shared goal to improve the world around us.

Women across the company play a pivotal role in Ouster’s mission and success – from the manufacturing floor to our corporate governance. While we recognize the contributions of our colleagues all year long, it is important to take stock of all the women who paved the way and continue to do so in honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

Employees that choose to self-identify as women currently represent nearly one third of our talent. Ouster’s Board of Directors is led by a Chairwoman and half of Ouster’s Advisory Board is composed of leading business women across the automotive, industrial, robotics, and smart infrastructure industries. Today, we are proud to share that every team at Ouster is inclusive of women whether they are recent graduates, management, or executive leaders.

Last year, a passionate group of employees reinvigorated Women@Ouster, a resource group focused on uplifting women within the company. Most recently, they partnered with Ouster Gives Back, our employee volunteer and match donations program, to support women-centric organizations. We still have a long way to go to support women across our company and in our communities, but remain more committed than ever!

We are also hiring! If you are interested in becoming part of a diverse community that is making the world safer, improving quality of life, and enhancing equity through autonomy technology, check out Ouster’s careers page.

Did you know that physicist Donna Strickland was only the third woman to ever be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics? She won it for her groundbreaking work studying light and lasers. Pretty cool!

Wall of Inspiring Women

Ouster employees highlighted one woman that inspires them in their life, and created a wall of inspiring women in the Ouster SF office to celebrate and honor women around the world! The wall ranges from Supreme Court Justices and CEOs, to scientists, authors, and climate change activists. Check it out!
