Working closely with our customers is core to our mission of making lidar technology useful, accessible, and dependable. Deep collaboration accelerates development, and it's one of the reasons Ike has chosen Ouster as a primary lidar supplier to help bring their automated trucking systems to market.

For automated trucking applications, the OS1 was designed from the start to withstand the rigors of on-road deployment. With resistance to robust shock, vibration, and robust environmental ingress specifications, the OS1 delivers the resolution, reliability, and accuracy necessary for commercial deployments.

“Ike has strict, rigorous requirements for the sensors that feed our automation system,” says Nancy Sun, Co-Founder and Chief Engineer of Ike. “Our systems engineering team evaluated the OS1 against a number of other options and concluded that it meets or exceeds those requirements. That’s why our development prototypes are equipped with OS1s today and we look forward to working with Ouster as automated vehicles approach commercial viability in the coming years.”

Our partnership with Ike is particularly strong because of our shared commitment to commercializing safe, impactful technology by focusing on practically-minded product development.

"Commercialization of advanced technology like lidar will not happen without transparency between suppliers and customers," says Angus Pacala, our co-founder and CEO. "We've been impressed with the Ike team, their diligence during evaluation, and helpful feedback as they incorporate our products into their platform. We’re looking forward to growing Ouster deployments in the commercial trucking market."

We were particularly impressed with the recent release of Ike’s Voluntary Safety Self-Assessment, a crucial step in bringing a high level of detail and transparency to the development of automated trucking technology. This includes a high-performance sensor architecture at its core, with the OS1 serving as a blind spot sensor in the perception system.

Look out for Ike trucks equipped with the Ouster OS1 on the road collecting data and at private test tracks. We’re looking forward to working alongside their team throughout their journey to make automated trucking a reality.
